My upright is your basic 150-year-old canoe, and I play a 1966 P Bass and a 1967 Guild Starfire hollow-body.
I've been in NYC for about 15 years and have had a blast playing/recording/touring with bucketfuls of folks including: Hem, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, Duke Ellington Big Band, Willie Nelson, Victoria Williams, Michael Stipe, James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), Dr. John, Rachael Yamagata, Maxene Andrews (Andrews Sisters), Levon Helm, Norah Jones, Jennifer Glass, Rhett Miller, Rene Lopez, Jim Campilongo, Leona Naess, Tony Scherr, Garth Hudson, Joseph Arthur, Luke Doucet, and The Peter Rowan/Tony Rice Quartet.
