Kristina Train

Kristina Train’s powerful voice is leaving audiences amazed. Often compared to the likes of Allison Krauss, Dusty Springfield, Bonnie Raitt, the Savannah, Georgia native is making a name for herself with deep, expressive vocals and fiddle in hand. Her soulful singing complements her catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Drawing inspiration from her idol, Aretha Franklin, Train's bluesy vibrato alternates between gentle ballads and powerful belting as she sings with mature intensity and an awareness of her southern roots.

Kristina has lived immersed in music for as long as she can remember. She first picked up a violin at age three, and soon began singing in the church choir. High school presented performance experience in a string of blues bands, eventually leading to playing with musicians such as Widespread Panic's John Hermann and saxophonist Randall Bramblett. Her first demo caught the attention of industry legends Bruce Lundvall and Arif Mardin, who signed Kristina to Blue Note Records at nineteen.

Deeply rooted to her hometown, Train sings regularly at the Savannah Jazz Festival, the Savannah Music Festival, and other local Georgia events. Her sense of community extends to the musicians she performs with, who include Scrapomatic's Paul Olsen and Mike Mattison, Oliver Wood of the Wood Brothers, and Derek Trucks. She has collaborated and performed with Syl Johnson, the Max Weinberg Seven and Grammy winning songwriter Tony Arata. Currently, Kristina is in London, working on her debut album with songwriter and producer Jimmy Hogarth.
