Through years of touring (Peter Gabriel, Joe Jackson, Laurie Anderson), television appearances from SNL to David Letterman, successful radio and TV commercials and six released CD's of her own, Joy Askew has honed the exercises learned from her own experience and vocal studies, to bring students a unique method!
This Voice Performance Workshop is open to all levels and not just geared to the singer songwriter, but to anyone who wants to improve their vocal performance, on stage, in the studio, as a backup singer or a lead vocalist.
Each week Joy will be covering the things that make a good performance click and also what holds us back with lots of exercises for breathing, support, projection and focus.
There will be 5 performers who will sing 1 song each and receive the benefit of Joy's hands-on teaching, as well as the participatory workshop atmosphere with the other students and audience.
