Chet Vincent & the Big Bend is a roots rock band based out of the unique cultural oddity that is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Combining the raw electric energy of blues-tinged rock and alt-country with haunting and (sometimes) heartwarming songwriting in the spirit of the American folk tradition, Chet Vincent & the Big Bend reconcile the great divide between intellectualism and accessibility; by ignoring both -- and just writing songs.
In 2007 Chet Vincent, a Pittsburgh native, released his first folk-rock debut album The Wakes (named for his DC based college band). Returning home to the Paris of Appalachia; Chet joined forces with long time friends and musicians to form The Big Bend.
Now a collective of distinct vocalists, songwriters, and strange names, Chet Vincent & the Big Bend have been building momentum for the last three years, writing songs and playing shows; opening for such known acts as, Leon Russell, Red Wanting Blue, Donna the Buffalo, Fountains of Wayne, An Horse, The Sadies, Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses, and Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants.
In Fall of 2009, Chet Vincent & the Big Bend released their first full length album, "Desert Gold," and in the Summer of 2011 released a second LP album "For Everyone," which even they can't help but feel a little proud of.
Now with empty pockets and open hearts, these young men hope to embark on a tour of the lonely American highways they sing about.
